Welcome to StrangerChats. Your privacy matters. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and users' rights.
1. Data we collect
We may collect:
- Account details (email, hashed password) when you sign up.
- Payment metadata (transaction id, order id) needed to complete purchases. We do NOT store payment card numbers on our servers — payments are processed by Razorpay.
- Optional profile fields you provide (nickname, preferences).
- Temporary WebRTC metadata (peer connection info, session times) required for matchmaking and video connections.
- Support communications and usage analytics.
2. Why we collect data
To provide service (matchmaking, billing, moderation), to process payments (via Razorpay), to investigate abuse, and to improve the product.
3. How we share data
We share only with: Razorpay (payment processing), trusted analytics providers, and law enforcement when required. We do not sell user information.
4. Storage & retention
We retain account records and payment receipts for business and regulatory requirements. Session-level video streams are peer-to-peer — we do not record video by default unless explicitly stated in a feature.
5. Security
We use industry-standard protections (HTTPS, server-side secrets, secure storage). Access to production secrets is restricted.
6. Your rights
You may request account deletion, data export, or corrections by contacting us at privacy@strangerchats.net. Deletion requests will be processed within a reasonable timeframe.
7. Payments
Payments are processed by Razorpay. For details about payment data handling, please consult Razorpay’s privacy documentation. Our servers only store transaction references and receipts needed to manage your subscription or session duration.
8. Changes
We may update this policy; we’ll show the 'Last updated' date at the top of the page.
